RE:  HAPAG-ASA FEEDING PROGRAM RELAUNCHING

Dear Monsignori, Fathers, sisters and brothers,

Greetings of Peace!

The recent findings of the World Health Organization that to this day three out of ten children in the Philippines are malnourished, we shall once again launch our diocesan “Save a Child” project through the Hapag-Asa Feeding Program in an effort to intensity our campaign against malnutrition.

This program which was first launched in our diocese in 2005, is a 6-month supplemental feeding of kids with nutritional issues.  To sustain the improved health of the children at the end of the program, Hapag-asa includes seminars to educate the children’s parents on Values Formation, Health/Nutrition, Livelihood and Responsible Parenting. Hapag-Asa is funded by Pondo ng Pinoy, and receives technical assistance from the Assisi Development Foundation and fortified rice from Risen Savior Mission.

In celebrating the Year of the Parish as Communion of Communities, we invite you all to join our vicariate and parish Commission on Service to Human Promotion (COSHP) to the re-launching of our Hapag-asa Feeding Program on AUGUST 26, 2017 (Saturday), 8AM – 12PM at the Villonco Hall, Diocesan Center for Evangelization, Villonco Road, Sucat, Parañaque City. As in previous activities, parishes are expected to provide food and transport to their participants.

We look forward to working with you in eradicating malnutrition in our parish communities.

In Christ,

Msgr. Albert Venus
