DOP CIRCULAR NO. 2018-040

18 April 2018

TO: ALL PARISH PRIESTS, PARISH ADMINISTRATORS, AND PARISH SECRETARIES OF THE DIOCESE OF PARAÑAQUE

RE: MR. IRENEO “ERNEST” M. RELATORRE OF IMUS HAS NO FACULTIES TO CELEBRATE SACRAMENTS AND PERFORM PRIESTLY MINISTRIES IN THE DIOCESE OF PARAÑAQUE

Reverend Monsignori and Fathers:

This is to respectfully inform your reverences that a certain Ireneo Ernest M. Relatorre from Imus, Cavite is introducing himself as a bishop of the Order of St. Benedict Catholic Church of England and Wales, and goes around within the Las Piñas area offering masses for the dead and house blessings. This has been reported recently by one of our Vicars Forane.

We have conducted some inquiry regarding the identity of the said priest and verified that he does not belong to the Order of St. Benedict, nor a member of the religious community of Benedictine monks (Roman Catholic). The Diocese of Imus and CBCP, likewise, do not have a record of a bishop under the abovementioned name.

Therefore, we would like to advise your reverences that Bishop Ireneo M. Relatorre is not a roman catholic priest and has no faculties to celebrate sacraments and perform priestly ministries in the diocese, due to the uncertainty of his priestly records and religious affiliation. He is not permitted to celebrate the Eucharist or administer any Sacrament on any occasion in any parish, chapel school, funeral home or in any private house in the Diocese of Parañaque.

Kindly post this Circular in your parish bulletin boards and inform your parishioners and the faithful within your jurisdiction.

Sincerely yours,

REV. FR. CARMELO O. ESTORES

Chancellor
