RE: CELEBRATION OF CLERGY DAY 2018
Reverend Monsignori, Fathers, Brothers and Sisters:
In order to articulate and concretize our celebration of the Year of the Clergy and Consecrated Persons, the various commissions, both on the diocesan and parish levels are implementing programs anchored on our theme “ Ka-lakbay, ka-akbay, ka-agapay ng Layko tungo kay Kristo”.
On August 4, 2018, Saturday, we shall also celebrate the Feast of St. John Ma. Vianney, patron of the clergy, as our Diocesan Clergy Day for 2018.
In order to find this occasion more meaningful and keep us constantly reminded of the importance of getting to know our priest/s and to pray for them, we are proposing that all parishes have a simultaneous celebration of the Feast of St. John Ma.Vianney and Clergy Day on Saturday evening.
Spearheaded by the Parish Pastoral Council in collaboration with the parish leaders and parishioners, you may use this opportunity to get to know your priest/s by listening to his vocation story, followed by a fellowship dinner with him/them.
In view thereof, the following format is suggested content of your program on Saturday evening.
- Anticipated Mass (depending on the usual time of the parish)\
- Program Proper:
- Priest’s sharing of his vocation story.
- Parish leaders respond by sharing how the vocation story of the priest has inspired them.
The parish, however, is not limited to our suggestion; a more creative manner of celebrating the event is left to the discretion of those who will spearhead the affair.
Let us continue being co-workers in the Lord’s vineyard by the celebrating the vocation story of our priest/s.
