RE: 4th CONFERENCE ON THE CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING

Greetings of Peace!

As we endeavor to make sense of the increasingly disturbing events in our country where the poor are the most affected, our bishops quoting Mt 5:9 in their CBCP Pastoral Exhortation of July 9, 2018 reminded us to be peacemakers – to rejoice and be glad. How are we to reconcile the message of our Church leaders while experiencing the cries of the poor in the communities we serve daily?

To seek guidance on how to live the Gospel of Jesus as the Church’s face to the poor in our parishes, we invite you to our 4th Conference on the Catholic Social Teaching on Saturday, August 11, 2018, 8:30AM – 12:30PM at the Villongco Hall, Diocesan Center for Evangelization.  Fr. Albert Alejo, SJ [a.k.a. “Paring Bert”] shall speak on “Peace and Active Non-violence.

A former President of Ateneo Zamboanga, “Paring Bert” is a Convenor for People’s Action vs. Corruption and Chair of Phil. Jesuit Refugee Service and Strengthening Advocacy of Lumads in Gov’t. He used to co-host Kape’t Pandasal in ABS-CBN’s Umagang Kayganda and is author of “Tao po! Tuloy!”

May we request our parish priests to kindly provide for the food and transport of your delegates. Registration shall open at 7:45AM. Conference shall start promptly at 8:30AM.

We look forward to your active participation during the Conference.

With Mary to Christ,

MSGR. ALBERT A. VENUS
