TO:     ALL PARISH PRIESTS, PARISH ADMINISTRATORS, RECTORS, CHAPLAINS, GUEST PRIESTS, RELIGIOUS MEN AND WOMEN, and LAY FAITHFUL IN THE DIOCESE OF PARAÑAQUE

RE:     50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE CANONICAL ESTABLISHMENT AND JUBILEE YEAR OF SAN ANTONIO DE PADUA PARISH ON MAY 14, 2020

Dear Monsignori, Fathers,

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

With jubilation and thanksgiving to our Almighty Father, we would like to inform you that the                              San Antonio de Padua Parish, located at 139 San Antonio Avenue, San Antonio Valley I, Parañaque City (near Parañaque City Hall), will celebrate its 50th Anniversary of Canonical Establishment and Jubilee Year.

A Eucharistic celebration and Opening of the Jubilee Year (via live streaming) will be presided by its parish priest, Rev. Fr. Agalito T. Tarog, with the permission and delegation from our beloved bishop,                    His Excellency, Most Rev. Jesse E. Mercado, D.D., on Thursday, 14 May 2020 at 5:00 in the afternoon.

The Apostolic Penitentiary from the Vatican has issued a decree granting Plenary Indulgence to all lay faithful one (1) year starting from the date of their celebration.

The decrees state that “…The Apostolic Penitentiary, by the mandate of the Most Holy Father Francis, favorably grants the celebration of the Jubilee Year with Plenary Indulgence attached to it. This indulgence can also be applied to the souls in Purgatory by way of suffrage. It can be gained under the usual conditions (sacramental confessions, Eucharistic communion and prayer for the intention of the Supreme Pontiff). It can be gained by Christ’s faithful who are truly contrite and moved by charity. They must also visit in pilgrimage the parish church of San Antonio de Padua in Parañaque, and devoutly participate in the jubilee rites there, or perhaps at an opportune time pour out prayer to God for the fidelity of the Filipino people to their Christian vocation, for priestly and religious vocations, and for the defense of the human family institution. They should conclude their prayer with the Lord’s Prayer, Profession of Faith and invocations to the Blessed Virgin Mary and San Antonio de Padua.

The Christian faithful of the parish, who are impeded by old age, sickness, or any other grave cause may likewise gain the Plenary Indulgence, if detesting all their sins and having the intention of fulfilling as soon as possible the usual three conditions, they join in spirit the jubilee celebrations in front of any image of the heavenly Patron, and offer to God of Mercy their prayers, sorrows, and inconveniences proper to their life.”

Due to the on-going implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), we encourage everyone to participate in their Jubilee activities via live streaming in their official page facebook.com/TataTonioDeParañaque

May this special occasion be a season of grace and an opportunity for renewal.

Thank you.

Sincerely yours,

(Sgd.) REV. FR. CARMELO O. ESTORES
